Outdoor Adventure Sports

What does therapy for Outdoor Adventure Sports mean?

Whether it's skydiving, BASE jumping, mountain biking, road biking, climbing, canyoneering, mountaineering, hiking, thru-hiking, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, etc; they each have their own flavors of personal challenges involved. If you’re experiencing challenges in your performance, in your mental health, or have experienced a sport related trauma ; you may benefit from seeing a therapist that has a specialty in outdoor adventure sports.

Why do I offer this service?

When I'm not providing therapy, I'm in the mountains rock climbing, ice climbing, mountain biking, or split board. Due to my involvement in these sports, I have faced many challenges that span from personal mental health, communication with teammates, and traumatic experiences. Following my involvement in a rescue scenario that changed my life forever, I found that it was difficult to process with a therapist that had no experience or knowledge of my sport. Since then, I've found passion in working towards providing a specialized service for outdoor adventure sport athletes.

Outdoor adventure sports have a unique way of intertwining our deepest challenges into our passion for our sports. Often these sports interact with our self esteem, identities, relationships with others, communication skills, and conflict resolution skills. These challenges can interfere with performance and our love for our sports. If you feel like you’re facing barriers to your peak performance, are losing your passion for what you used to love doing most, or have experienced a sports related trauma; this service might be just the right fit for you.
